NFL Season Kicks Off
The NFL season has just began and along with it an equal amount of drama has followed. Former star receiver Antonio Brown is no longer in the league. This happened when Brown was traded from his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, to the Oakland Raiders for draft picks in years to come.
At the Raiders, Brown’s start was nothing but horrific. He damaged his feet in a cryotherapy bath, and he complained about the NFL mandated helmet that he had to wear, stating that he might retire. While on the Raiders, Brown caused instant drama. Just before the season started, the Raiders released a statement saying that Brown would be playing with them, but the opposite happened. Raiders GM Mike Mayock and Brown ended up getting into an argument that led to Brown’s release from the Raiders.
Days later Brown was signed by the New England Patriots, but he was not allowed to start the first week after just being released from his previous team. Brown was able to start the second week, and he had a productive game in a blowout against the Miami Dolphins catching a touchdown from Patriot’s Quarterback Tom Brady. But this was not long lived.
Brown was released by the Patriots after only the second week of the season. Week 9 is just around the corner and there is no sign of Brown returning to the NFL this season or in future seasons.
