Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, has now been overtaken for the spot of the richest person in the world by Elon Musk. Bezos was known to be the former richest person in the world for three consecutive years with a net worth of around $185.7 billion. However, how did this happen in the first place? Well, Elon Musk started to rise to fame when he became the CEO of SpaceX, a spacecraft company. He also became the chief executive officer of the electric-car company, Tesla, which has become a huge hit on the market, accelerating his net worth. 

It has been reported that Musk’s net worth has grown at an astonishing rate over the past year with more than $150 billion since March 2020. Jeff Bezos, however, faced a downfall during the pandemic when Amazon’s stock fell 1.2%, lowering his net worth by $2 billion. Musk’s net worth continues to grow at a  face pace due to Tesla, and it is estimated that he will be a trillionaire in a few years which would make him the first trillionaire in the world. 

After a few days of being taken down, Jeff Bezos has reportedly stepped down from his position as CEO which is a shock for everyone. Replacing him now is Andy Jassy, who has worked in Amazon for 24 years. What will be the fate of Elon Musk and Andy Jassy in a few years? We shall see!
