This week was an exciting week at Lenape! Spirit Week was this past week, and students dressed up according to various themes. Then, Friday was Pride Day. Each grade was assigned a color, and students got to walk around campus to participate in different activities. The day ended with the pep rally, where the seniors took home the Spirit Stick.
Let’s recap the week day by day.
Monday: Soccer Mom vs. Barbeque Dad
There were plenty of vests, baseball caps, leggings, and Lululemon clothing for the soccer moms. And for the dads, people wore cargo shorts, jerseys, and aprons.
Tuesday: Surfers vs. Bikers
This theme was inspired by Teen Beach Movie. For the most part, surfers wore Hawaiian-print shirts, and the bikers wore bandannas and the colors black and red.
Wednesday: Barbie and Ken
The whole school was filled with pink because of this theme. Students and teachers dressed up as various versions of Barbie and Ken.
Thursday: Anything but a Backpack
People were super creative on Thursday. There were strollers, wheelchairs, wagons, and many other things used instead of a backpack. However, there was traffic in the hallways due to the larger items.
Friday: Pride Day
On Pride Day, each grade dressed up in a different Lenape color. This year, seniors wore red, juniors wore black, sophomores wore white, and the freshmen wore gray.
Students were able to roam around campus and participate in different activities. There was face painting, karaoke, bake sales, and friendship bracelet making.
The day ended with the pep rally, where the cheerleaders performed, the seniors did a senior skit, and the grades competed in different games to help their perspective grade win the Spirit Stick. The gym was energetic and students had fun cheering on their grades.
The seniors placed first, the sophomores second, the juniors third, and the freshmen came in last. Hopefully, everyone enjoyed Spirit Week and Pride Day!
