The spring sports season is starting up, the weather is getting warmer, and the days are getting longer. Many students are excited for the introduction of the sports this season, like spring track, tennis, golf, and lacrosse.
Tryouts for these sports have been going on since last Monday, with student athletes anticipating the upcoming season. “I’m most excited for the meets,” said Sofia Lucignano, a freshman on the girls track team. “It’s always a fun time meeting new people and getting closer with team mates.”
Beyond Lenape students, our sports coaches have high expectations for the season and positive spirits. “We have a large senior class but with a lot of young talent coming in, I expect us to continue to get better everyday and make a deep run in the playoffs.” said Coach Mull, who runs the Girls Lacrosse team. “I’m excited for our senior class. These girls are kind, hard working, and wonderful young ladies. They are going to work hard and help bring a lot of success to our program.”
Springs sports have been with Lenape for a long time, and have made their own unique impact on students and teachers alike. It brings the community together to support our most hard-working and talented athletes and uplifts our school spirit.
“I love coaching my girls. They are excited to get better every day and they give me something positive to look forward to,” Coach Mull continued.
This spring season is just like any year, full of pride, with many students getting involved. In these school activities, a sense of community and camaraderie is developed by our coaching staff and student athletes! Our coaches at Lenape are ready for this season, and welcome new challenges, students, and experiences, just as our students are excited and preparing for the season.
