This timeless love story between Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy will now be re-returning to theatres, much to the joy of the fans. The re-releasing of ‘Pride & Prejudice’ starts April 20th with this theatrical event ending April 23rd. This re-release is happening nationwide, alongside limited edition merchandise to further add to the legacy of the beloved film.
The iconic film features Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennett, who instantly judges the demeanor of the “proud” Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfayden). However, as their interactions become increasingly common, she can’t help but reconsider the very thing she prides herself on, her judgment.
Furthermore, Focus Features is partnering with Decca Records to bring fans the long-awaited ‘Pride & Prejudice’ soundtrack vinyl release. This vinyl release is composed by Dario Marianelli, performed by Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and is going to be released later this spring in multiple formats.
It is no surprise that this timeless adaptation of the book ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen was well received by both fans and critics, as both Knightley and Macfayden are congratulated for their fabulous performances of the characters. Macfayden’s take is well received by the previously beloved Mr. Darcy in the 1995 BBC miniseries, Colin Firth. Firth said that it was Macfaydens performance that made him “finally” understand the character. “Definitely my favorite Darcy,” Firth said.
