Averie Wu, Editor-in-Chief
Hi! I’m Averie, a proud Lenape senior and Editor-in-Chief of the Smoke Signal. This is my fourth year writing for this lovely news site, and I have cherished every second! My favorite part about writing articles is that you can write a variety of things you are passionate about (and I have many passions). Personally, I love writing school event articles and interviewing students about their thoughts and experiences. I also enjoy writing about pop culture, world news, and upcoming holidays people might not be familiar with. Additionally, I am very passionate about women’s rights and write articles about it to share my opinion and spread awareness. Also, I usually include a takeaway in each article because I believe everything can be a life lesson and that there’s always more to learn!
Besides writing, I also love reading! Fun fact: I read 132 books last year. It’s hard to pick a favorite book, but the Inheritance Games trilogy is a top contender. I also love to paint in my spare time (usually either landscapes or portraits) and have played the piano and violin since I was 5. Of course, I am a Taylor Swift lover! But, don’t ask me to pick a favorite song or album because that’s impossible.
I hope you enjoy reading our site’s articles! Our writers work hard to make educational and entertaining articles, and we definitely have something for everyone to enjoy!
